Billing

If your insurance plan is not listed above, please call our office at 609-383-3800 to confirm that we are not in network with your insurer.

Please bring your insurance card to every visit to verify enrollment. When insurance information cannot be verified, you may be asked to make payment in full at the time of visit. We always collect copays and co-insurance at the time of any service.

Office visits and services are first billed to your insurance company. After they process the claim, an explanation of benefits is sent to you explaining their payment. There may be a portion of the bill which they deem is the patient’s responsibility. You will receive a bill in the mail from Advocare reflecting any amount due. This can be paid over the phone, online through our website or by mail.

Any outstanding balances from previous visits will be due at the time of any future appointments. As we do recognize that financial hardships occur and that it is difficult to plan for unexpected medical bills, please do not hesitate to speak to our billing manager if you would like to set up a payment plan.

As part of routine health care, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends scheduled well visits for infants and children. Most health insurance plans do not require a copay or co-insurance for the basic well office visit. During these visits for preventative care, multiple screening measures reflecting growth, visual, auditory, developmental, and mental health assessments may be used. These important screening tools are required to be billed separately from the office visit. Please be familiar with your insurance coverage for screenings as they vary with every plan and they may or may not be covered by your policy.

Acute or chronic health concerns are treated during a problem focused or sick visit. These visits may require a copay, a co-insurance or be applied to a deductible.

When an acute or chronic medical problems is managed during your child’s well visit, the evaluation and treatment of the problem may be applied to the deductible or result in an additional copay. This will be detailed on the explanation of benefits sent by your insurer and may result in a patient balance.

We are available to help in any way with navigating your insurance plan.

Newborn Coverage

We love to see newborns!

It is important to notify your health insurance company as soon as possible about your new arrival. This will add your newborn to their mother’s insurance plan for the first month of life as well as begin the process of creating the baby’s own insurance policy to begin coverage for the one month well visit.
